WE
INSTALL
THE
RISE
Commercial elevator installation, cab modernization, and freight conversion for the contractors and developers who build the skyline. We thread steel rails through the skeletons of buildings still smelling of wet concrete.
"When the building opens, the elevator is the first thing every tenant judges. We make sure they never think about it twice."
James Kowalski — Lead Installation Engineer, Ascend
"Specified on 47 active construction projects across the midwest and southwest — from 3-story medical facilities to 22-floor mixed-use towers."
Built for the
long haul.
Every project documented with full tonnage specs, code compliance jurisdictions, and cab finish photography. No stock imagery.

The Meridian Phoenix
When the Meridian's original 1987 hydraulic cabs began failing inspections, general contractor Sunstate Build contracted Ascend for a full 22-floor modernization. The scope: four passenger cabs, one service elevator, all replaced in-place without closing the hotel. We phased the work over 11 weekends, staggering cab shutdowns so at least three units remained operational at all times.

A 1962 warehouse receiving a cold-storage conversion needed a freight elevator rated for 6,000 lbs with stainless steel interior to meet USDA facility standards. Ascend engineered the pit and overhead clearances within the existing shaft — no structural modification to the building envelope.

Harrington Capital's 18-floor headquarters specified custom cab interiors as a brand expression — walnut veneer, blackened steel thresholds, and recessed lighting programmed to shift from cool white in morning hours to warm amber by end of day. Six passenger cabs, one dedicated executive cab.
"The scroll earns trust through accumulated evidence, not emotional persuasion — every tonnage figure, every code citation, every finished photograph is a brick in the wall of credibility."
— Ascend Project Management Philosophy
Three disciplines.
One contractor.

Built into the structure from day one.
We coordinate directly with your structural engineer and project superintendent to rough-in the shaft, install the rail system, and commission the cab before certificate of occupancy. Our pre-construction review catches spec conflicts before they become change orders.
- Shaft layout and pit/overhead coordination
- Steel rail installation and alignment
- Machine room and MRL configurations
- Full commissioning and ASME inspection
- As-built documentation for facility management

The cab your tenants remember from the opening week.
Aging hydraulic and traction systems fail quietly — until they don't. Ascend's modernization program replaces controls, cab interiors, door operators, and drive systems while your building stays occupied. We've completed 47 modernizations without a single unplanned building closure.
- Controls replacement (relay to solid-state)
- Drive system upgrades (hydraulic to MRL)
- Cab interior: steel, stone, wood, glass options
- Door operator and safety device replacement
- ADA compliance upgrades to Title III
